WOMAN-THY NAME.....

Strong as a rock, emotions running deep as the ocean, patience of a saint, sweet as nectar, innocence that of a child, Mysterious like the universe, thoughtful and wise like a preacher, at the same time furious like the fire, anger like the volcano but above all someone who stands against all odds...This is no one but a WOMAN.

As I was passing by I heard someone ask. Do we really need a special Day to celebrate for Women? I t can be taken in 2 ways. One—Maybe because she is special always OR in a note so positive form—Like Why do we need a special day for her? Don’t we already have so many days to celebrate??

Well, my take is...we have valentine’s day for people to express love –rather people who love each other, we have mother’s day, father’s day, May day so on and so forth. But, they are categorized for either a section of people OR for certain relationships.

I feel, Woman's day is a day that acknowledges the female gender, as a whole, irrespective of age, nationality, political, social and economical status and devoid of all relationships. An acknowledgment for her individuality, for what she is as a person, for what she stands all by herself. For the entire struggle she undergoes and has undergone for her rights, could be political, economical, OR  social.

Speaking about Individuality, On one hand, A woman is seen as a source of inspiration, a life giver A person who bestows unconditional love, affection, and warmth. She is compared to goddess Durga (destroys evil), Saraswati (bestows knowledge), Lakshmi (wealth and fortune), and on the other, we are still fighting our way out for women empowerment and their upliftment. We are fighting for their basic human rights, their social status. For their moral rights. For her freedom for expression. And not to mention female foeticide.

A woman, who gives life to another human being, is taken the rights of being accepted. At one point we place her on the pedestal and compare her with the divine goddess and at the same time curb her into the soil.

I am not trying to be anti-men here or a feminist. Am just questioning myself. Why isn’t a woman seen as the other individual like any of her male counterparts? Allow her to live her dreams, aspirations, ambitions. Why in the long run, she loses her individuality? She has to live like as if she is someone else and not what she actually is?

As long she doesn’t question, she is accepted, when she does, all hell breaks loose. Why is she driven to an extent, wherein she starts hating her own existence? Why is it that she is been seen as a commodity rather than an individual., as  another human being? Why isn't she accepted the way she is? This is not restricted to rural, urban Cosmo or metro. It applies everywhere.

Even in our so-called today’s modernized world, a woman is treated as a weaker sex, She surely may not have the masculine strength, but mentally she is the strongest. She can make or break situations, turns the world topsy-turvy.There are many examples to it, which all of us have seen.

I personally feel, and most of out there would agree, if a woman can bring and nurture another life, she can do anything. The only hitch is this realization. From within. Many of us don’t realize this and go by what is told to us and accept it without a word being said. Maybe we are still fighting. In our own many ways. Within ourselves rather than the outside world. We are our own enemies. We need to break ourselves free and come out in the open and care a bit more, love and respect ourselves a little more.

Maybe it’s not so easy for some, a little difficult for others and for some, a little more difficult to do this. But, one can at least try.

So, SMILE, LAUGH, LIVE, DREAM, AND BREAK FREE FROM YOUR INHIBITIONS AND BE RE-BORN AND COME ALIVE TO ANOTHER EXISTENCE AND RE-DISCOVER YOURSELF.

Finally, WISHING ALL THE WOMEN I KNOW AND TO ALL OF THEM WHO HAVE made A DIFFERENCE A VERY HAPPY WOMAN DAY!!!

well, it is very good written..women r equal to men in all aspects except physical n emotional where they can b exploited easily by men. More than that mothers make their daughters weak minded rite from the birth to become submissive n adjust n all dat crap instead of making them strong minded so women r responsible for their own women weak minds.

well it is very well written, women r equal with women in all aspects except physically n emotionally, they r weak physically n emotionally n r exploited by men. But the fact is mothers make their daughters weak minded from the day they r born n r taught to b submissive n adjusting so women r responsible themselves for their daughters to become weak minded. so make urself strong to face the reality of life.

The Awakening Call..

It took in a lot of effort to write this article. Not because it was difficult to write but did not know from where to start. There were so many unanswered questions that were going on in my mind. Dignity, self-respect, confidence, hope and a zeal to live life against all odds is what adds value to mankind and makes life worth living. At some point of time, all these value-adds are at stake. It makes things more difficult when it is hurt and dealt at random with no fault of the person, but is hurt due to certain horrendous acts. One of such is hurt and insulted in the recent days that made headlines which shook the entire nation. This, in turn, started getting diluted politicized on a large scale and on a personal note—became the fight of the sexes  Why do we always wait for such a terrible thing to happen which becomes an awakening call? Makes one realize that the society that we live in is so 2 sided that it can take it and live with it if it goes unnoticed and su...

The inner conflict

TO BE OR NOT TO BE- is phrased by Shakespeare in one of his plays-Hamlet. The everyday line for day to day life series is TO DO OR NOT TO DO.   The duality of the mind, the flip-flops of thoughts, the space between the doing and the undoing seems to have captured the souls of every individual. We are usually caught up in-between actions, words, gestures either with oneself or another. Human beings are social animals but are still animals in our own ways.   We love to please all and want to be in good books of all expect one IMPORTANT PERSON- Own self. This is the first step of conflict. A conflict with oneself. The conflict of the outward self with the inward self.   It is a pull and push mechanism. The inner self wants to push the outward self in loving oneself and the outward self is pulling away from listening to it. We resent ourselves from listening to our inner self. We fail to act its way. The reason could be, because we know it does not manipulate or ...

Isn't it just a NUMBER!!!

Age? Have I heard it right? I would want to give this age stuff  a food for thought. What is the fuss all about? It seems to be all normal and happy going with the number twenty. Come thirty and there starts the slight panic button and forty-all hell breaks loose. May be it works differently for both the genders. For men, life can start at forty and for women it can either start or cease. In today’s times, looking at the way things have changed everyone is into tricking their bodies to look young and hide that age. As if, it is a taboo or maybe a concept of looking young forever. This age thing too is tweaked and has its side of hypocrisy. This so-called age does not come in the way when one gets into a relationship or has to achieve goals in life or starts to live life all over again. It becomes a number and nothing more than that. This age becomes an inspiration and an example for others to follow. It becomes a source of positive and courage.   On the ot...
