GUMNAAM...

Gumnaam hai koi…..badnam hai koi…kisko Khabar koun hai who…anjaan hai koi…
All—at least most of them would have heard this famous song.
Well, I was in the midst of a traffic jam on my way to work. Kept looking at those fascinating vehicles stuck up. Without even finding an inch of space to crawl.
From nowhere this song came to my mind. I kept thinking how true this song is.
Most of us are unknown (gumnam) to each other. At times, we claim that we know each other well, but do we really know each other.
There would still be a part of us which is unknown to the other person. We possess so much in our lives; we do so much to conquer fame, recognition, success and so on and so forth. After a certain period of time, we hear the same tune played for us.Gumnam hai koi…
It is so true. We have witnessed so many celebrities shoot to fame. We read so many controversies surrounding them. But all that stops once they are out of business. No one knows where they are. Their existence itself becomes extinct. Finally, everyone becomes extinct
Giving it a thought we are all jittery about being unknown, being thrown away from the epicenter, from being unrecognized, living a ghostly life.Untouched, unknown, and unseen. We do so many things to be in the limelight, to prove our existence. Yet, we get drawn towards the non-existence.
On second thoughts, I feel we want to be non-existence and at the same time exist and be a part of this world.
My thoughts were interrupted by the honk of the car. I was back to reality from my thoughtful world wondering am I also a part of the same crowd carrying the same thoughts or would I accept the fact being GUMNAAM…

A Writeup-From one woman to another

Yet another year and we hit 8th MARCH-INTERNATIONAL WOMAN’S DAY.   This day is observed to celebrate the women achievers in various fields across the globe devoid of economic, cultural background, religion, race, or nationality. Initially, it kicked off in 1909 in US from a labour movement in North America wherein the women workers protested against the working conditions. From then on, it emerged from being from just fighting for working conditions to considering and working for women rights across the globe for various reasons. This day is also known as United Nations day for women rights and International peace. Women and peace on the same day? I have this kind of reaction as I’ve usually heard that women are non peace makers. Wars are fought because of a Woman. Families are fallen apart because of the Woman. The Epic Ramayana and the Mahabharata happened because of a Woman. Let’s have a look at these events known in Hindu Mythology. Had Sita-in Ramayana not bee...

I am You AND You are Me!

Have you ever thought about comparison? Something that is so easy to do but is highly complex in its form? As a Child and a growing adult, I detested being compared with anyone. I did not understand the reason.  I kept thinking, how can one be compared with another? It is often executed as if it does not matter and is done as a matter of fact! I never understood why it is even done... One thing I knew was how it made me feel. What implications it can have. Comparison is a mighty Tool. It often breaks one but at times builds the Craziest ones. The ones it builds end up repeating the "Compare cycle game" Comparison is not saying, you are not doing or studying or performing like the other person but it is also trying and striving to be like a "PARTICULAR PERSON"  Why do you want to be someone else? Be a Photocopy? Why not be YOU? I was often asked, "Who is your Idol? Whom do You follow?" My all-time answer would be "NONE". I say that because there i...

The inner conflict

TO BE OR NOT TO BE- is phrased by Shakespeare in one of his plays-Hamlet. The everyday line for day to day life series is TO DO OR NOT TO DO.   The duality of the mind, the flip-flops of thoughts, the space between the doing and the undoing seems to have captured the souls of every individual. We are usually caught up in-between actions, words, gestures either with oneself or another. Human beings are social animals but are still animals in our own ways.   We love to please all and want to be in good books of all expect one IMPORTANT PERSON- Own self. This is the first step of conflict. A conflict with oneself. The conflict of the outward self with the inward self.   It is a pull and push mechanism. The inner self wants to push the outward self in loving oneself and the outward self is pulling away from listening to it. We resent ourselves from listening to our inner self. We fail to act its way. The reason could be, because we know it does not manipulate or ...
