GET...SET...GO...

I kept saying NO. Until I had this experience...It was at this point I realized, I would have missed so much, had I not been there.

It was just after the Laila effect in the city that had just passed by. The Bangalore City was up and ready for its most awaited event. Event for a cause. A platform that brings together people from all walks of lives and supports a cause that they stand for. With no age bar, all it needed was the heart and the spirit for this occasion.

A bright Sunday morning of 23-May-10, the city was in its full spirits. It was the first time I was witnessing the Sunfeast Bangalore Run. Trust me! It was amazing. The experience was wonderful. The mere fact of being a part of this event and representing it is an experience in itself.

Most of us refrain from participating in such events for many reasons. We feel, how will it help, or make a difference if I am there or not. It does not Matter. To be frank, it does. It matters to all of them who are fighting for a cause. To be there to witness the huge support for various causes and boosts the morale of the participants. It gives all of them participating in the RUN a motivation to continue their work to lay another milestone in what they do. I feel this is what matters more than anything else does.

In a way, for common people who actually wants to do so much for the society but lacks time due to his/her own reasons, this is a platform to come together, be there, and do their bit.
The entire crowd was actually there at the Kanteerava stadium and the stadium in full cheers, colourful banners, representing their respective groups with full Josh!

On a personal front, I felt, this is one such event to know how many people are striving against all odds in bringing the various sections of the society together. It is a sight to see so many social organizations come together as one family and yet diversified in the kind of work they do.

There was some running for the underprivileged children, some for supporting the educations, some running to build up life skills, mid-day meals. There were also people supporting the environment factor. There were people supporting Alzheimer affected people fighting their own battle and bringing awareness about the same. A group were running for people affected with mental illness. There were people supporting for employment for disabled (I do not know how many of so-called “normal” are able).

I also noticed some youngsters who were in darkness but spread light by being a part of this RUN. There were also some confined to their wheelchairs. However, their undying spirit and courage to fight against all odds made the difference. Not only social organizations but also it was a mix of individuals, corporate that had come together.

I was glad and more than overwhelmed to witness such an event...I would encourage others to be a part of such event in the future. Even if you do not RUN, at least, be there to represent it. You will surely see the difference...This will bring a lot of change in your thought process as well.
So...Cheer for a Cause...A Cause that will bring Smiles on thousands of faces and brighten all our LIVES. I hope there will be much more in the coming years who will Say GET...SET...GO...RUNNING FOR A CAUSE...

I am You AND You are Me!

Have you ever thought about comparison? Something that is so easy to do but is highly complex in its form? As a Child and a growing adult, I detested being compared with anyone. I did not understand the reason.  I kept thinking, how can one be compared with another? It is often executed as if it does not matter and is done as a matter of fact! I never understood why it is even done... One thing I knew was how it made me feel. What implications it can have. Comparison is a mighty Tool. It often breaks one but at times builds the Craziest ones. The ones it builds end up repeating the "Compare cycle game" Comparison is not saying, you are not doing or studying or performing like the other person but it is also trying and striving to be like a "PARTICULAR PERSON"  Why do you want to be someone else? Be a Photocopy? Why not be YOU? I was often asked, "Who is your Idol? Whom do You follow?" My all-time answer would be "NONE". I say that because there i...

The inner conflict

TO BE OR NOT TO BE- is phrased by Shakespeare in one of his plays-Hamlet. The everyday line for day to day life series is TO DO OR NOT TO DO.   The duality of the mind, the flip-flops of thoughts, the space between the doing and the undoing seems to have captured the souls of every individual. We are usually caught up in-between actions, words, gestures either with oneself or another. Human beings are social animals but are still animals in our own ways.   We love to please all and want to be in good books of all expect one IMPORTANT PERSON- Own self. This is the first step of conflict. A conflict with oneself. The conflict of the outward self with the inward self.   It is a pull and push mechanism. The inner self wants to push the outward self in loving oneself and the outward self is pulling away from listening to it. We resent ourselves from listening to our inner self. We fail to act its way. The reason could be, because we know it does not manipulate or ...

The Awakening Call..

It took in a lot of effort to write this article. Not because it was difficult to write but did not know from where to start. There were so many unanswered questions that were going on in my mind. Dignity, self-respect, confidence, hope and a zeal to live life against all odds is what adds value to mankind and makes life worth living. At some point of time, all these value-adds are at stake. It makes things more difficult when it is hurt and dealt at random with no fault of the person, but is hurt due to certain horrendous acts. One of such is hurt and insulted in the recent days that made headlines which shook the entire nation. This, in turn, started getting diluted politicized on a large scale and on a personal note—became the fight of the sexes  Why do we always wait for such a terrible thing to happen which becomes an awakening call? Makes one realize that the society that we live in is so 2 sided that it can take it and live with it if it goes unnoticed and su...
