Just a click, call, message away is the kind of world that we are living in. We have technologically upgraded and advanced in almost everything. This so called huge wide world has shrunk not only into a global but a technologically global village. We take pride that we have actually shrunk this globe where one is just a few minutes, miles away. Where everything seems possible.
Somewhere down the lane, we have lost something within ourselves. We have lost on time, on the simple and small gifts that life offers us.
We find almost no time to reach to our dear and near ones. In the world where distance does not matter, we have distanced ourselves from one another. We have become technologically closer but actually too far. We have put ourselves in an “it’s not a big deal” kind of a mind frame. Just a button away and we will make up for the times not caught up. But the button keeps going farther and farther away and finally it is lost forever. We do not seem to get a hold of it.
Thinking of times, when these things were not so easily available, people made time to reach out, wait to call one another or rather write, made time for one another. There was an urge, a need to reach out which is somewhere lost. The advancement has taken off the basic human emotions.
Things have got programmed, stored and executed. We have forgotten the language of speech, the language of expression, the art of acknowledgment. The joy of calling for no reason, or maybe just a Hi or a wish. We have no clue where we are heading at this rate. Coming to think of it, we have got so used to replacing one thing to another that one fine day we may just wake up and see nothing exist around us. Either we have replaced things too much or maybe things have replaced us.
One fine day, there may possibly come a stage when we realize that we have used or rather have overused our technical creations to such an extent that we have lost track of our own existence.
Technology should bind people and lessen the time. It is made for us to lessen our huge tasks as to make time and space to enjoy life’s beautiful moments. It should be used and dealt for the reasons made. Being Tech savvy is not wrong, but being a tech-bound, a tech mania is a limit.
